Curiosity Workshop for Educators

November 14, 2009

The Tampa Museum of Art will present a special Curiosity Workshop for Educators on Saturday, November 14, 2009, from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. at Nature's Classroom in Thonotosassa, FL. Watercolor artist Taylor Ikin will present this special Watercolor Workshop that explores the natural environment of Nature’s Classroom, a 365-acre Environmental Study Center. Nature's Classroom is the perfect landscape for a creative and exciting workshop.  The Tampa Museum of Art is hosting this workshop for Hillsborough County Public and Private School educators.

The workshop will offer plein air sketching on the grounds of Nature’s classroom with opportunities to enjoy the magnificent views of the natural landscape. These views include the Hillsborough River and some of Florida’s indigenous species and wildlife.  Ikin will lead a discussion and demonstration in the classroom, using watercolors to capture the natural beauty of the surroundings.  All levels of experience welcome, no prior experience necessary. Some supplies and a light lunch will be provided by the Tampa Museum of Art.  For an additional supply list or to register, contact Dawn Johnson at  813.421.8372 or dawn.johnson@tampamuseum.org.  Pre-registration is required, limited space available.
